DOES
YOUR CHILD FAIL TO LISTEN TO YOU WHEN YOU ASK HIM OR HER TO DO SOMETHING?
We have
developed a 6-session parent training program on how parents of
children 2 - 12 years can teach their child to listen to requests.
Parents receive a manual, observe videos and learn about effective
strategies that have proven to be effective, The following
is a sample of what is covered:
understanding functions of problem
behaviours;
identifying easy and difficult requests
for your child;
how to give effective instructions;
how to reinforce children following
instructions,
teamwork
practicing at home

the use of various ways of using
timeout;
the use of response cost;
the use of extinction (planned ignoring
and motoring through)
parent develop a tentative compliance
plan
the plan is first modeled by the
clinician with the child at BI;
each parent practices with his/her
child at BI and receives feedback;
development of an implementation
plan
follow up on success of plan;
application of ingredients to other
problem behaviours
